The Story of Willi Gleno-Geloneck and the Hotel Timp:

Willi was as a 5 year old, already a step dancer of world class. With his father Charly they were a famous Varieté Show. Later, Willi, together with his wife Inge, found the “Gleno-Sexy-Show”. And during his performances in Cannes and Nice on the French Riviera, he became fascinated from the art of “travestie” for the first time.

His dream was to have his own Hotel with Travestie Shows in his home town of Cologne, Germany. And so it happened! And that was the beginning of TimP.

Now it has been more than 25 years that there have been Travestie Shows under the Show Name – Hotel TimP.

Many stars, both large and small, came to visit the owner, Willi, see the Shows and to be seen. That this sassy frivolous establishment on the Rhine always hypnotized and mystified its guests is due to the unique flair of the show. Where else do you meet Madonna, Cher, Whitney Houston, Hildegard Knef and Nana Mouskouri singing, dancing and putting on a fantastic show all under one roof?

Whether the word Timp in German is masculine, feminine or neuter it doesn’t matter. You are always right at TimP. If you are looking for feminine inspiration, a little bit of contact with the transsexual culture or just a secret tip when visiting Cologne, TimP is the show for laughter, entertainment, fascination – an institution of the Rhein culture. TimP , the Travestie Cabaret, the Trending Meeting Point, the bar in the center of Cologne, guarantees that there is a show every evening 7 days a week from 1 AM to 5 AM.

Many famous German Show Stars come to TimP and Willi has a collection of the famous and infamous visitors in the back of the Hotel. But EVERONE is welcome as long as everyone is tolerant. At Timp – him, her and anything-in-between is accepted. From the Grandma that wants to see something different, to the yuppy, to the local bowling club, Congress visitors, singles, lonely people, crazy people, heteros, homos, lesbians and everyone else – they all meet at TimP – “we are all family” is the Motto of the House. No one “must”, everyone “can.”

Willi does not want visitors to expect too much during their visit since there are evenings when not much happens outside of the show. However most evenings the “spark jumps the gap” and Willi, the TimP Girls and the prominent visitors really put the-pedal-to-the metal and give a Show to be remembered. Whoever is too late for the beginning of the Show, must sit on the little “gay garden stools” as they are called when no room is left on the window banks or tables. TimP is the place for spontaneous performances, unexpected meetings and openly friendly non-violent clashes of culture.

Willi, charming as always, starts off the show, and then the TimP girls show their sassy, frivolous and funny parodies of famous stars and songs. When they sing the old favourites hardly an eye stays dry. And the incredible figures and legs of some of the girls makes some guests wonder – is she a man or woman?

Every month there are special guest appearances by other Travestie Show Stars from other Cabarets in Germany. Even if you have to sit in the last row, right at the back, TimP offers an unforgettable experience.

When Willi ends the show with his classic, “As long as we get along so super, TimP will get along for another 20 years”. His guests applaud, the curtain is closed and the stage disappears. The guests make their way home – happy how Willi and his team have given such a super Travestie performance.
