TG LIFE's New Columnist Paula Takes You To Sin City's Best TG Hotspots!
Hi everyone, my name is Paula and I’m the new TG LIFE columnist from Las Vegas. I’ll tell you about the places I go, what’s happening and where you can go and have a good time!
Last Saturday evening a small group of us partied at Krave in Las Vegas located at the Las Vegas Strip and Harmon Avenue in the Desert Passage Mall (702-836-0830).
Shavonna Star of tried to put a party together there, however only a few of us showed up. Krave is an alternative lifestyle club and features a large gay and lesbian crowd. Chocolate (a local drag queen) comped our admission and it was loud and busy. Not a lot of people dancing so I left around 12:30am.
I have been to The Freezone twice, located at 610 E. Naples between Paradise and Swenson (702-794-2300). They have a good drag show there and a big crowd also. Pool tables with a food window, too.
The Elvis Restaurant and Lounge, locate at 545 E. Sahara Blvd. (702-262-0001) is the best so far. Quiet live music and live singers doing Frank Sinatra and Elvis tunes. The Elvis has a nice motif for dinner and a small dance floor and nice bar. It has become a local TG hang out since Zingers has closed down. The staff is friendly and attentive! My friend Shawna and I have gone twice and some of us girls went out again Friday evening.
We started out at The Elvis Club, had a few drinks, then dinner. I had this pic taken outside the front door with Elvis himself. I’m on the far left, Shavonna Star is in the red, I'm not sure of the T sisters name next to her and Lacey is on the far right.
The Gipsy is across the street from the Freezone at 4633 Paradise Road (702-791-0100) and they don't open until 10:30. Lacey and I went there also and talk about Drag Shows - real quality if you ask me. Comedy routines, impressions of famous people… I loved it and will surely go again! The Gipsy has what is now called RETRO night; 70's 80's and 90's music Saturday nights. I love to dance, but can't always handle TECHNO. It will be great to hear some old stuff next time I get there!
