Would Jesus Persecute the Transgendered

Interpreting The Bible And How It Relates To Crossdressing!

The shame and guilt of crossdressing is often magnified greatly for the faithful. The first tentative steps into the transgendered life are awash with the shame for many men and women who discover they are different. Yet the believer must also face judgment from those who call themselves Holy, and certain condemnation from God.

With great fervor they proclaim “Crossdressing is a sin. Repent and ye shall be saved!” It is true that a few have laid claim to freedom by submitting themselves to the will of the church and fervently seeking God. Yet many more have found that no matter how hard we pray, how sincere our call to be cured we awake the next morning and realize - we are still who we are. Transgendered. Not free. Trapped between the call of our souls and our assigned duty to God.

It would seem as though Jesus truly does persecute the transgendered.

That is, if you believe their interpretation of the Bible. One which previously sought to deny women equal rights and treat those of a different color as second class citizens. The truth is that God loves you so much that He sent His son to die for you. Do you think He's really going to disown you over a few items of silk and lace? I highly recommend  Trans Faith Online if you're struggling to reconcile your transgendered nature with your faith.

I believe that there are dangers in whichever group of Christians we choose to believe. If we submit to the first and accept our transgendered nature as a sin we label who we are as a sin. We curse ourselves to live the half-live of those too afraid to love deeply, dance fervently or sing joyously.  If we believe those who accept us we may be fooled into thinking our purpose is to be transgender. Creating a mini-god out of our particularly unique difference, worshipping the woman inside of us rather than the God of us. A struggle artfully articulated by Allyson in her thoughts on the problem of Transgender Pain.

I believe our challenge is to fully embrace who we are, while at the same time living for God. The transition is not an end unto itself, but a means to more fully fulfill God’s purpose in our lives.

Be yourself, look gorgeous and live life to the full!
